PERSHING COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Alumni Board Meeting Minutes
June 9, 2014 5:20-5:55 p.m.
Attendance: Lynn Christofferson, Geraldine Atkinson, Denice Davis, Lisa Booth and James Rowe
Meeting was called to order at 5:20 p.m.
Deposit 2014 Alumni $15,779.53+ GGB $7567.80 + ($1085.77 2013 carry over)= Total deposits $24,433.10. Alumni includes dues of $5687; dinners totaling $4470 (174 paid +17 seniors complimentary) $4600.00 caterer 2014 Exp. $16,300.93 + GGB $4,752.82 = $20,290.75 Carryover into 2015 of income – expenses = $3238.60 P.C.H.S.A.A. Alumni and $3900.75 GBB Treasurer’s Report: checking $26,169.67 (Bills written for Banquet, not cashed yet, scholarships not deducted yet, any remaining monies to be received, not deposited yet) savings $3,011.00 time account $10,220.71
Discussion: Next year we need to decide if we should include the $15.00 dues in the dinner amount. Problem; how do we differentiate between couples where both graduated from PCHS from couples where one partner did not graduate from PCHS.
Jerry will contact class of 1989 to see how they want the Knife Plaque to be worded because the class bid $3000.00 and the bid was matched by the Popejoys for another $3000.00.
Discussion: Next year should the dinner price be increased to $30.00 per plate. The Caterer charged us $23.00 per plate, and at $25.00 per plate, we don’t have much margin. Each present graduating senior’s dinner is complimentary.
Discussion: Next year have the Leadership Group of the High School (Juniors and Sophomores) help set up and decorate. They could earn Community Service hours for helping.
Mr. Rowe stated that last year one of the General Scholarship winners did not attend school, and he stated that the alternate person has contacted him and asked if she could receive the scholarship monies. Lynn called her and left a voicemail message that we will pay her the scholarship and have her contact Mr. Rowe with her proof of enrollment.
At the Banquet we had five (5) members of the Association contact us to help with next year’s celebration. We are very grateful for their interest and will be contacting them for help and inviting them to the next meeting.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 5:15 p.m. at 400 Irish American Road. All are welcome to attend.
