PERSHING COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Alumni Board Meeting Minutes
February, 27, 2013 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Attendance: Leslie Steward, Jim Rowe, Jerry Atkinson, and Rachael Leavitt.
Treasurer’s Report: Checking $7,865.78, Savings $3,009.14, Time Account + Interest $10,076.81.
Leslie called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. Treasurer’s report was given.
Minutes were approved from last meeting.
Jerry reported that she contacted the school and they have listed the link to our web page. Rachael said she had also contacted Mr. Fox’s office.
Jerry reported on the reply from 2 Degs Catering that they would not be here or be able to put in a bid this year.
The Cowpoke Café was the only bid received. They said the menu would include: Hand carved prime rib, baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, vegetable, green salad with dressings or Ceasar salad, homemade dinner rolls with butter, and banana split cake and cream cheese brownies.
The Alumni invitation will stay the same with amount of dues and dinner reservation. Jerry had this ready to go at the meeting, but under the circumstances, there must be a change on the invitation concerning the meat, so she will await Lynn’s direction. It was suggested that Lynn should talk to Patricia at Cowpoke to make sure we are getting prime rib for the price as stated on the bid letter. If possible, this needs to be done by this Tuesday, March 5th, so that Jerry can refix the bid letter to give to Mr. Rowe on Wed. for his trip to Reno to leave it at KINKOS. We will have Kinkos make 2500 invitations again. At next month’s meeting we will do labels and have them ready to be mailed by April 1st.
Jerry will advise Jody if she can come next month on Wednesday for the meeting, then Jody, Mr. Rowe, and Lynn can go to school and start talking up the Alumni date with the seniors, the day after the next meeting. Mr. Rowe will contact the school for Jody. Mr. Rowe said there is an a.m. class from about 11:00 -11:45 and then a p.m. class from 12:45-1:45.
Lisa sent the Community Center paperwork with Leslie. Jerry gave Leslie a check for $160.00 for the Community Center.
Leslie said Jerry Reid said he offered to be the DJ.
Rachael is here through Sunday. She is going to school tomorrow to get as many annual senior pics as possible. She will also try to list class officers. Each class has the capability of adding pics and other info, a liaison is needed for each class’s reunion. Jerry will call paper and see if we can get something going into the paper with an article on the web page that Rachael created. Rachael is also going to talk to Sarita and a few others about starring in a fun promotional video for the alumni web page.
Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Wagner for letting us meet at 1550 Delta Place for our meeting.
Next meeting will be 3/27/2013 at 400 Irish American Road; then 4/24/2013; and 5/29/2013 at 5:15 p.m. Jerry will post this in community announcements in the Lovelock Review Miner.
Respectfully submitted,
/s/ Jerry Atkinson
