PERSHING COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Alumni Board Meeting Minutes
February 26, 2014 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Attendance: Lynn Christofferson, Geraldine Atkinson, Denice Davis, Leslie Stewart and Rachel Craspay.
Meeting was called to order by President Lynn Christofferson at 5:15 p.m.
Treasurers Report: Grads Giving Back $ 1,085.77
Checking Account $ 9,282.48
Savings Account $ 3,010.65
Investment Time Account $10,192.34
Total: $23,571.24
One bid was received for the Alumni Banquet on June 7, 2014. The bid was received from 2 Degs Catering. There being no further bids or objections, it was moved by Leslie and seconded by Jerry to accept the bid. The motion was approved.
Jerry and Denice reported that they have gone through all of the Alumni books and the listing that was received from the school and have updated the computer listing. They have also gone to the High School and double checked their listing to make sure that no graduates have been missed. There is still a problem, however, in that there are 713 graduates that we don’t have current address for. Jerry is currently using Face Book to contact graduates and asking them for their current addresses and e-mail addresses.
Jerry also pointed out that in the Alumni books for the last three years, none of the Alumni Officers have been listed. It was decided that as of 2014, the Alumni Officers need to be listed in the Alumni book along with the class listing. The listing should also include the class officers. A listing will be given to the Senior class of items that should be included in the book.
Jerry printed a copy of the revised invitation for each Board member. The invitation was approved. Denice and Jerry will have the invitations and mailing labels ready for the next meeting. They will also check with Kinkos to see if the invitation can be sent to them via e-mail to be printed.
Rachael Leavitt was called on the phone and she reported that she has the link ready on the Web Site so that Alumni can make their reservations and pay for the dinner and their dues using Pay Pal. Rachael is also setting up a link for Grads Giving Back’s 5K run/walk.
Rachael Leavitt also would like to hold a Video Contest for the school children. The contest will be open to the Elementary School, the Junior High School and the High School. The videos will be limited to 1 minute and 30 second time limit. She has talked to Shelly Nee to get some media release forms. She will talk to the Principals of the schools to get their input. Rachael also would like to offer a prize of $100.00 for the best video. The rules will be posted on the Web Site. This idea was approved by the Board.

Lynn reported that Lisa and Tony Booth will not be able to do the bar set up and clean up this year. The Board is looking for someone else to take on this job this year.
Lynn also suggested that the Board order another banner with the School Song so it can be posted on the wall at the Banquet. Lynn stated that the cost would be approximately $100.00 for an 8’ X 4’ banner. It was moved by Denice that the Board should order a new banner, and seconded by Jerry. The motion was approved.
Jerry also stated that we need to order another Hall of Fame Plaque. She will contact Etched in Stone to order the plaque. This was approved by the Board.
Leslie reported that Jerry Reid will do the music for this year’s dance.
Jody Bailie was also called on the phone. She had nothing to report at this time.
Next meeting will be held March 26, 2014, at 400 Irish American Road.
