Alumni Board Meeting Minutes
June 11, 2013 5:15-6:30 p.m.
Attendance: Lynn Christofferson, Leslie Steward, Jerry Atkinson, Lisa Booth, Rachael Leavitt and Denice Davis.
Meeting called to order by Lynn Christofferson at 5:15.
There was no financial shortfall this year due to the Grads Giving Back (GGB) 5K Run/Walk and 100% dues collected from those attending dinner.
DEPOSITS AND EXPENSES FOR THE YEAR: 2013 Alumni Deposits: $12,491.84
GGB Deposits: $ 5,115.00
Sub Total Deposits: $17,606.84
Alumni & GGB Expenses: $14,823.17
TOTAL PROFIT: $ 2,783.67
Alumni Profit: $ 1,697.90
GGB Remaining Scholarship Monies: $ 1,085.77
Anyone wishing to donate toward scholarships are welcome to do so. All Alumni Dues and donations collected go to scholarships.
Discussion regarding new and improved web site. Rachael will be working on it this summer. Also will get as many Annuals as we can find onto the web site for all to see. Discussion also of adding maiden names to the web site. Also discussed a page on the web site to show Alumnus’s who have registered for the banquet so their classmates can see who is going to be there. Might help others decide to attend.
Discussion regarding photographs of the attendees at the banquet and ball next year. We have several Alumnus who are photographers. Maybe we can get one of them to do pictures.
Discussion regarding bring back the Grand March.
Agenda items for January meeting: Rewording of the Alumni Invitation to make it clearer for the dues and possibly adding a late fee for dinner reservations after a certain date; Ending the dance at 11:00 instead of 12:00; Sending the Alumni Invitation electronically to those who have registered online.
NOTE: Chuckars only charged the Alumni Association for the food. They did not charge for cooking and serving, so any Alumnus who wants to “Give Back” to Chuckars for the great dinner, please call Dan Hill or Lisa Booth to volunteer to work the Chuckars Dinner September 21, 2013.
Next meeting will be in January, 2014 - date to be announced at 400 Irish American Road.
