PERSHING COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Alumni Board Meeting Minutes
April 30, 2014 5:20-6:45 p.m.
Attendance: Lynn Christofferson, Geraldine Atkinson, Leslie Stewart, Jodie Dingee, Jim Rowe, Rachel Craspay, and Denice Davis.
Meeting was called to order by President Lynn Christofferson at 5:20 p.m.
Treasurers Report: Grads Giving Back $ 3,665.81
Checking Account $ 9,556.97
Savings Account $ 3,010.88
Investment Time Account $10,211.14
Total: $26,444.80
Jerry and Denice reported that the Alumni Banquet and Ball Invitations were mailed out to those Alumnists who have not provided us with e-mail addresses, and e-mail Invitations were sent out to those Alumnists who have given us their email addresses.
So far, we have received 116 mailed Invitations back that cannot be delivered by the post office due to incorrect addresses.
Jerry also reported that a “History of Education” questionnaire was also sent out to those Alumnists who graduated from 1930 to 1969. We are hoping that everyone will fill out the questionnaire and return it to us even if they cannot attend the Banquet and Ball.
The board also discussed possible uses for the questionnaire. Such as, reading at the Banquet, or possible posting on the PCHSAA Web site. The Association will also keep all that are returned in a binder for historical purposes.
Jerry reported that the Association has applied for a Tax Exempt status with the State of Nevada so that we will not have to pay taxes on purchases for the Banquet. The State has asked for more information before approval. Rachael said that she would help Jerry get the information needed formatted as the State requests.
Jodie will take the Alumni Association Information sheets and the Senior Class Invitation to the Seniors tomorrow. Denice will pick them up from the School Secretary on May 22, 2014.
Denice will contact the Frontier Community Coalition to see when they can schedule the Beverage Server Training for Leslie, Jerry and herself.
Hall of Fame nominees were discussed and Scholarship awards were also discussed. It was also decided that in addition to providing proof of enrollment in an institute of higher education, the Scholarship winners must use the scholarship before February 20 of the year following the award.
The next meeting will be held on May 21, 2014 at 5:15 p.m. 400 Irish American Road.
